At Sii Light we know that effective sports lighting is crucial not only for enhancing visibility and safety during night play but also for minimising spill lighting in residential areas. Properly designed lighting ensures uniform illumination across the field or court, reducing shadows and glare that can disrupt both players and spectators. This balance of performance, sustainability, and light control makes advanced sports lighting an essential investment for any sports facility. Most recently, Floreat Park Tennis Club, were seeking a complete LED upgrade to their existing Tennis Court lighting to meet competition standards, enlisting the assistance of EOS Electrical and V-Lambda to ensure that the supplied lighting would meet their requirements.
Upgrading with Purpose
Floreat Park Tennis Club partnered with Sii Light to modernise their lighting system using existing 8-meter poles. The goal was to ensure continued competition level lighting, providing a safe and high-quality environment for players. Our solution included a mix of 320w and 400w 4000K LED flood lights that deliver superior brightness and uniformity across the courts. With a focus on reducing energy consumption and providing superior optics, we chose DarkLicht Cut Off Floods – LED lights with advanced optics to minimise light spill. This ensures the courts are well-lit for play without disturbing the surrounding residential area. The custom-designed, energy-efficient fixtures provide long-lasting performance, furthering the club’s commitment to sustainability. This project represents an annual cost saving of approximately $14,376 dollars in electricity costs to the club, through the replacement of the metal halide floods with an LED alternative, based on assumed kilowatt per hour costs and switching times.
Seamless Collaboration and Certification
Sii Light worked closely with EOS Electrical and VLAMBA throughout the installation and commissioning process. Custom manufactured pole top brackets were designed to fit the existing poles, and project-specific drivers and cabling were supplied to ensure smooth operation. The final installation was rigorously tested and certified by V-LAMBA, ensuring the lighting levels met competition standards.
